Nerja is one of those places best enjoyed without rushing.
Between the blue of the Mediterranean and the mountains of the Sierra de Almijara, this old whitewashed Andalusian town still preserves much of its charm: narrow streets, quiet squares, flower-filled balconies, hidden coves and viewpoints where you can pause and look out to sea.
From El Jazmín del Patio, you can experience Nerja on foot, calmly and from the heart of the town: go out for breakfast, walk down to the beach, stroll to the Balcón de Europa or simply wander through its white streets at sunset.
Balcón de Europa
Nerja’s most iconic viewpoint. An essential walk to look out over the Mediterranean, admire the coastline and feel the relaxed rhythm of the town.
Nerja Cave
One of the great treasures of the area. Its chambers, natural formations and archaeological value make it a very special visit, especially if you are interested in history and nature.
Old town
Whitewashed streets, small squares, flowerpots, local shops and that Andalusian atmosphere that invites you to walk without too much hurry.
Church of El Salvador
Located next to the Balcón de Europa, it is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the historic centre.
Beaches and coves
From nearby urban beaches to more natural coves towards Maro, Nerja offers many ways to enjoy the sea.
Nerja’s cuisine has a true Mediterranean flavour: fresh fish, grilled sardine skewers, tapas, ajoblanco, tropical fruits from La Axarquía, olive oil, Moscatel wine and simple recipes that speak of both the sea and the land.
One of the best ways to discover Nerja is to sit at a terrace, taste local products and let the day slow down a little.
Discovering the wines, the tradition of Moscatel raisins and the many products of La Axarquía is something every traveller should add to their list.

Frigiliana
One of the most beautiful white villages in the area. Perfect for wandering through narrow streets, whitewashed houses, flowers and mountain views.
Maro
Very close to Nerja, Maro is the gateway to the Nerja Cave and to some of the most beautiful coves in the area.
El Acebuchal
A small restored hamlet hidden among the mountains, perfect for a peaceful and different kind of excursion.
La Axarquía
Villages such as Cómpeta, Torrox, Canillas de Aceituno and Sayalonga allow you to discover another side of Málaga: more rural, more peaceful and deeply connected to wine, Moscatel raisins, the mountains and traditional life.
Málaga
Approximately one hour away by car, Málaga offers museums, history, gastronomy, the Alcazaba, the port and a lively cultural scene.

A longer excursion, but a very special one. The Alhambra and the Albaicín are well worth visiting if you have several days in the area.
